Sci-Fi Interior Concept Art: Sleep Lab
This project was developed during the "Sci-Fi Interior Concept Art" course by Nick Stath. The brief was to design a space where a person enters and activates a pod to initiate hibernation.

Building on this concept, I explored additional ideas to enhance the narrative and visual impact:
• Architectural Composition: A minimalist rectangular space disrupted by a slanted wall, introducing daylight and creating a striking focal point.
• Contrasts in Design:
-Color: Cold artificial lighting juxtaposed with warm natural light, emphasizing tonal and brightness differences.
-Material: The raw, tectonic nature of concrete columns contrasted with the sleek metal finishes of lab machinery.
-Form: The boxy geometries of the lab equipment complement the organic, biomechanical shapes of the sleeping pod. Inspired by HR Giger’s iconic biotechnological aesthetic, the pod’s design feels both mechanical and alive.

Production Details: All assets were modeled in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered in Arnold. (The human mannequin and small crate on the right were sourced from Megascans.)

I hope you enjoy this project! Feedback and thoughts are always welcome. 😊
